I am working with Open Atrium and RDF seems to break the install and other json implementations in other modules.

Is there an alternative that I can use because I do like the Calais module.

Right now we require the RDF module b/c we make use of the ARC2 library (which is a requirement of the RDF library) We also optionally store and present RDF (again as part of the RDF module) and use some of the processing. I think it might be better to get the RDF module fixed.
