Cron not running auto-updates - appears to be a known 6.14 issue, how are you doing it? [#611222]

okay, i was pulling my hair out for a bit tonight- no feeds appear to update when cron runs, appears to be a known issue of sorts:

"feed api doesn't update on cron after 6.14 update"

...but also to a feedapi 6x.1.9 beta 2 http://drupal.org/node/157368/release

any idea how to approach this? i do not see a home for feedapi within the managing news profile! otherwise, i've got a site that does set up correctly, adds feeds etc, but now does zero updates...

okay, i'm losing my mind because it just did run an update and two new items appear on the home page...confounding...had mediatemple running cron on their end, through proxify, through terminal, just loads of white screens...

site is sh*tly.com (didn't want to post here because it's got a swear word in it, a project with my older son for skateboarding stuff) replace the asterisk with an "i" and you'll get it ;)
