I think it could be useful if the dropdown menu could have the smaller size as default value (in my experience it is the most often used since it shows the whole image).
It could be also nice to show the scaled size in percentage instead of pixels.

Percentage display has been added. Scaling starting at minimum not, because i noticed most of our clients, start with the big image.
If you want a smaller size of dropdown. You can add an imagecache scale first.
