First, let me say that this module is amazingly awesome, and has already saved me a lot of time and energy in trying to get my website set up.

That said, I am trying to enable my slideshow in a certain way, but cannot figure out how to do so. I believe that it would require new functionality of the module.

As it stands, I am using SingleFrame to display a slideshow of 9 images. A thumbnail of each image is presented, so that the user can more easily navigate the slideshow. With the current functionality, this can be accomplished in one of two ways (to the best of my knowledge):

1. All 9 thumbnails can be presented at once, though it looks somewhat ugly and disorganized (see attached image).
2. The thumbnails can be broken into sets of a certain size, with navigation between those sets being handled via a pager (see attached image).

The problem with the first option is that it doesn't scale well (large numbers of thumbnails quickly become unmanageable). The problem with the second option is that navigating sets of images using a pager is a clunky user experience.

Ideally, I would like for the user to be able to navigate through the thumbnails via a carousel (example: http://www.s8solutions.com/portfolio.html), with the selected node being displayed.

If anyone has been able to create such a result, I would love to know how. Any other thoughts/ideas on how to address my user experience would also be greatly appreciated.

you can use the views slideshow: thumbnail hover (packaged w/ the module) for that functionality.

I'm sorry, but cannot get the ThumbnailHover setting to work in a way that results in this type of a carousel. Below are the settings that I am using. Please let me know what I need to change in order to enable this carousel functionality.

Basic Settings
- Style: Slideshow (ThumbnailHover)
- Row Style: Fields (Only field is the thumbnail image)
- Use Pager: Full pager (Or else I can only access the first 4 items)
- Items to Display: 4

ThumbnailHover Settings
- Hover Breakout: Full (Though this still does not display the "Add Comment" link)
- Display Teasers Last: No
- Pager Event: Click
- Controls: Top
- Image Counter: Bottom
- Effect: fade
- Sync: Yes
- Advanced Options:

The result is actually a bit further from what I need than the SingleFrame view (due to the "Add Comment" link not appearing), and it results in a display similar to the one I posted before where one has to page through different sets of thumbnails (see attached image).

Please advise how you were able to create a carousel display using the ThumbnailHover settings.

Did you find a solution?

I think aaron is wrong, I don't see any way to create a carousel within the current options, and ThumbnailHover is even worse than SingleFrame with thumbnail pager.

I was not able to create the carousel functionality with this module. I ultimately just redesigned the layout of my site such that the carousel functionality was not needed.
