Provide validation on thumbnail directory and default

I was stumped for a short while wondering why my thumbnails were not showing up at all. Then I found that my "ooyalathumbs" directory had not been created, and there was no mechanism for automatically creating this directory for me.

This patch adds a mechanism to ensure that the selected directory exists, and provides basic validation when configuring the directory and default thumbnail.
