I've realised that the same user can have multiple "takes" of a quiz in progress. Haven't looked too deep into it, but I suspect this is largly due to: #630948: Quiz is very revision happy, and it's too easy to "start" a quiz

You get a quiz in progress because it's too easy to start a quiz by just hitting the view page, and this "in progress" status is stuck in the report because a new revision of the quiz have been made, I suspect.. See screen shot!

This seems to be fixed!

(Only thing I realized is that a user will continue a quiz in progress even if a revision of that same quiz have been made in the meantime. I suspect this won't be an issue for many people, but I leave it here for google!)
