When I retrieve I get the error "no messages to retrieve" although I can clearly see through webmail several messages waiting at that address.

Maybe it's a problem with the folder? What is the provider? IMAP or POP3? What is your folder setting?

I have tried both IMAP and pop3 ( both work) with same results, in my mail folder on my server I have set .inbox folder to 760 permissions.

One thing I noticed is that the .inbox doesn't seem to be associate with any email addresses, as there are separate follders for each email address but none contain an inbox on a "new" folder.

When I use the "new" folder also set to 760 I get a bunch of IMAP warnings can' open stream when I try to retrieve.

Are you using a public provider where I could setup an account and test?

sorry for the late reply, was in the hospital, no wifi ;-)

I can set up an email account for you if that is what you were asking ? Otherwise I run the virtual server so I can give you access to the installation directory too.

I will be trying to get this straightened out soon and will be working on this through the weekend and into next week if necessary. Your help would be much appreciated.
