Browsing drupal planet on my phone today, it became painfully clear that there is a problem.
If someone chooses to expose their whole article on planet, exactly that happens.
It makes browsing through the list really difficult sometimes, and I would like to see some rules in place that would make it a much nicer feed to use. These are the 2 that stick out to me, but I'm interested if anyone else has pet peeves regarding planet.
1. Teasers only (max 300 - 400 chars)
2. Only 1 image in the teaser (max 250x200)
Thanks for your time :)

gregglesWhat tool were you using to browse the planet? It is meant primarily for access via an RSS reader.
I ask because most complaints that I have heard are to push people in the planet to a full feed since most rss reader software handles those well.

michelleThere's people on both sides of the fence. Those of us who read it through the web interface want short teasers to scan through. Those who use an RSS reader want full posts. I don't know if there's any way to please both unless somehow a web page could be set up that shows shortened versions while the feed has full?

gdemetThis also came up in recently in another thread: http://drupal.org/node/200559
As someone who reads the Planet both on the Web and using an RSS reader, I'm in support of a solution that limits the amount of content displayed on http://drupal.org/planet, while still keeping full posts on http://drupal.org/planet/rss.xml - Planet is sometimes totally unreadable on the Web, and I suspect that it's a big issue for lots of folks who don't use RSS readers, especially Drupal newbies.

nicksanta commentedI mostly use the web interface, it's pretty much the only feed I keep track of. I understand the issue of people wanting the full posts to view within their reader, but is there a way to truncate the posts on the web interface?
