All,
If this has been asked before, then please flame me to hell but I can't find any reference to this.
Needless to say, I'm very new to Drupal, but having a blast and sort of enjoying "surfing the learning curve" but I have a problem which I hope you can help me with.
I'm creating a web site for a small club of people and the main focus of this is that we hold random "meetings" that are arranged at short notice. So to this end, what we require is the ability to post an event into a calendar but get the system to automatically send everybody an email to let them know an event has been entered/changed/deleted.
If anybody has any guides in doing this, then I may just have to create a shrine to you as it is driving me nuts at present.
Oh, I'm running 6.14 code and have the chance to load ANY modules you see fit.
Much thanks in advance
Mark

Simplenews
I use this on a site, http://drupal.org/project/simplenews check it out.
Simplenews will not send out
Simplenews will not send out e-mails automatically. For your situation, I think you should try the Rules module (http://drupal.org/project/rules).
Check out the subscriptions
Check out the subscriptions and/or notifications modules.
Subscriptions allows you to subscribe all your users to a content type, such as events. Users can then opt-out if they so desire.
Here is a link to a page describing the differences between them: http://groups.drupal.org/node/12645
