I can see this being by design, but I just wanted to point out that the input format only appears to be customizable for the first alternative. If this affects all alternatives, then I might suggest moving the input format above or below all the alternatives (if this is allowed), or just making it more obvious to the user (titling it Input Format for Alternatives or something like that).
