Are you requesting to take over maintainership or are you just flagging that this modules maintainership has been lost?
I'm also interested in taking over the maintainership of this module and co-maintain it with others like tobiassjosten and perhaps you as well if you're interested - I haven't had time to look at your patches yet though.
Because of the lack of activity on this module and the need for a new approach to a module like this I started coding on my own implementation of Facebook Connect which I lately has gotten help from tobiassjosten on as well. It hasn't been published on Drupal.org yet for two reasons - it's duplicating the work of this module and it's not yet very stable. It can be found here: http://github.com/voxpelli/drupal-fbconnector and the dependency can be found here: http://github.com/voxpelli/drupal-connector
I would be interested in leading the work on making a stable release of version 1.0 of this module and to then move on and create a version 2.0 based on the best things from this module and from my module - eg. integrating it into a new API for all kinds of connect-like functionality.
I am changing the title, which should contain the name of the project, to give more visibility to the report.
I will also send an email to the maintainer, asking him to reply here.
I would not consider the time passed since December 7, as the issue title didn't contain the project title; there is a reason to use such title for this kind of issue reports.
please, cooperate, not compete ;) there are alredy 2 abandoned connection to FB modules on drupal.org and I could find couple more on the web (buggy ones of course).

Please name them or point us to them so we can refute their usefulness or use them ourselves. One FB Connect module that works is worth 500 "buggy" ones any day. And, if you consider this one buggy, then getting a new maintainer is SURELY the remedy.
so deadline is 14th Jan? as we just have 3 more days to go, why not save the effort here and help vectoroc on http://github.com/vectoroc/fbconnect so we can have a new beta as soon as 14th.

I posted a code review patch for this module a long time ago as well as extended it to use one click logins for a website I was building - but never got around to make a patch for that. My code review can be found at: #517702: Review of coding styling and http://github.com/voxpelli/drupal-fbconnect

vectoroc commentedIt's bad that I did not see your patches earlier. I'll take a look later, but in general I done my work on module

vectoroc commentedAfter 2 weeks If author will not response on this issue some one may take over maintainership.

mallory99 commentedI'm looking forward to the revival of this important module. Good luck chaps.

avpaderno@vectoroc: You don't have a CVS account; until you don't apply to get one, I cannot give you one, nor add you as co-maintainer / maintainer.
avpadernoI approved vectoroc's application, and passed to him the ownership of the project. LaNets still has access to the project CVS.
vectoroc commentedthanks. now I should investigate how to release next version :)
