I have contributed a patch to port the 5.x version to 6.x, in this issue http://drupal.org/node/485320 which has been idle for over a month, and if I am granted the ownership of this project, I pledge to release the 6.x version within 48 hours, and will pledge to have a 7.x release ready for the day 7.x is ready.
Crel, thanks for doing the awesome job on it initially. I didn't have to do very much coding to get it ported to 6.x, but I have a few ideas to make the usage of kiosk mode easier. If you would prefer to remain the custodian of this project, then I'd like to provide some input, but otherwise if you'd like to spend your time on bigger and better modules while letting me take this one over, I'd like to build on the good foundation here and make releases available for others to use.

Yeah, I've not been keeping up with this module. I just replied on the D6 update thread.
Do you have a CVS account? I checked and it looks like you'd still need to apply for one before I can add you to the maintainer list.
