I have root access on a Virtual server running CentOS ( hostgator.com ). I would like to use this module, but I do much adminstration. I am currious how difficult it will be, and the implications of installing the JRE and other required parts for this module to work.

irishgringo commentedi forgot to mention that i was interested in using some of the features...
Sheetnode XLS import/export module and perhaps the
Sheetnode ODS import/export module
which both require the Java stuff...

infojunkieI've done little CentOS administration, but I expect both the Sun JRE and PHP/Java Bridge to be available as RPMs. You have a couple of options to install PHP/Java Bridge: using Tomcat or as a standalone daemon. Theoretically the installation steps are straighforward but I've encountered problems in the past, so expect to be doing some troubleshooting. Just make sure PHP/Java Bridge is working properly before you attempt to do the Sheetnode export integration. I'm available here to answer further questions that might arise.

infojunkieClosed unless I hear back from OP.

infojunkieThe latest 1.5-beta3 version has removed the Java dependencies and replaced them with PHPExcel library. Please delete your sheetnode folder and install the latest version as per the instructions on the module page.
