After having used l.d.o for a while, we have the impression similar to http://drupal.org/node/561662#comment-1984266. On the other hand, l.d.o throws in the apple of discord to the drupal community in Japan, and so I am disgusted to negative campaigns to me.
For these reasons, if possible, the Japanese translation team wants to go back to CVS base until l.d.o is formally integrated as a part of d.o.
So, please delete the Japanese language from l.d.o.

gábor hojtsyThe complaints so far say you are not receptive of contributions. Maybe it would be useful to reply to the complaints themselves instead of going back to CVS. How exactly going back to CVS solves the frustrations of people not being able to contribute? How does CVS make contributions easier?
BTW the issues we are talking about are #605032: Problems joining the Japanese translation group on l.d.o and #661164: Japanese group maintainer refusing access. Holding up other module translations. @Takafumi: just leaving them alone there will lead people to believe that the allegations in those issues are in fact true. If they are not, the solution is to provide answers to the complaints as far as I see.

Takafumi commentedYou are right, but I am being exhausted with their farces. Therefore, I proposed to them that they choose the epilogue of this farce.

Dokuro commented@Takafumi
I don't think there has been any farce posted by anyone about joining the Japanese localization team. If there has been a farce, can you expand on it?
Also, there has been a request for Translations of you post here http://drupal.org/node/605032. Now I can have that post translated for you, do you need help translating that to English? Since I am one of the people that I am sure you are talking about, I don't really want to be the first to jump in and translate it, but I can.
We don't hate you, we just want the chance to be apart of things and help. Really is this too much to ask?

PS: IMO taking Japanese out of l.d.o wouldn't be the best "community" solution
Comment #5
avpadernoI agree with arhak.
Considering that the localization group serves for the localization of all the Drupal modules, including the third-party ones, the decision of what to do with the group cannot be left to only one person, as it cannot be only a single person to decide who can be part of the group.
Controlling a localization group in such a strict way means also to decide which modules will be used from people who need the Japanese translation to use Drupal. This is not acceptable too.

pasqualleOk, so as the group maintainer clearly described that he does not want to continue maintaining the language on l.d.o, then someone should take it over. Any responsible volunteer(s)?
I know this is a harsh answer, but this is just a simple problem with plain simple solution..
And I would check the group policies for all other languages, closing a translation group of an open source program is absolutely wrong. Translation group should be closed only on the request from maintainer and translators when they are any kind of problems which can not be solved, but I simply have no idea what that problem could be.
gábor hojtsy@Pasqualle: Takafumi marked this postponed, so I don't think we need any more actions here for now.
Takafumi commentedI don't have no longer maintainership of this translation group, because it passed to other one.
So, I marked this request as fixed.
avpadernoBeing this a task report, and considering that the translation group has not been deleted, the correct status is .

gábor hojtsyAgreed with kiamlaluno.
Takafumi commentedThat's right, I agree too.
