Hello!

I would like to create community website. I'm just start to work with Drupal so I'm not an expert. I wonder if Drupal is strong and powerful enought to cope with big community website. I woluld like to create web page on which anyone can crate user groups and invite them to this group to show their pictures. Each photo will be able to be discussed. It is therefore obvious that the webpage will be based on large numbers of users (who will be able to communicate) and their photos.

If it is possible to create such community website using Drupal, what modules should I use? Does it difficult to realize this idea?

Yes it's possible-- for a nice selection of some high profile drupal sites see http://buytaert.net/tag/drupal-sites. For groups functionality see the http://drupal.org/project/og module.

Thank you. I consider what you wrote. I supposed that the only solution to create this kind of website will be use of Java EE or ASP.NET.

I'm not sure how you got that from my post-- I came from asp.net and drupal is far superior imo. There's tons of community sites built with drupal (some very high profile like myplay.com), but use whatever works for you.
