Planning Session for Drupal for Churches [#674040]

This issue is mainly for Rick, but others are welcome to participate.

I apologize for my absence recently. I just moved and with the holidays I haven't had much time to devout to this project.

I would like to take 30 min to an hour to plan out a development strategy for this project. We should create some common goals, divide up the work, and set some deadlines to give others an idea of what's going on.

The new Drush stuff the Drupal admins added to the Install Profiles is awesome. I think if we leverage that along with the Features module we can have a very solid platform to build from.

Can we plan to discuss this on Thursday? Does morning or evening work better?

I can use these forms of communication:
Google Talk (or Google Wave)
AIM
Skype

Or I can just set up a simple Meebo Room.

The planning will be taking place on Google Wave for the time being. Once we have some of the fundamental decisions made for this project we will start opening up the discussion to the community for feedback.

I would like to step in on this o I can get a feel for the project and where you re gpoing with it. I definetely want to be invovled in this!

This issue is very much active (not fixed). For now there are a few of us who have been collaborating on Google Wave (good use case to try it!). Once we have a better idea of where we'd like to go, the plan is to open the conversation up more openly at http://groups.drupal.org/churches to gather more feedback. I would personally like to make this an open community project but it is hard to get people pitching in until a direction has been set. I hope this helps give a bit more direction. I'm hoping that a more open conversation will be possible in around 2 weeks.

@rpeters Please shoot me an email via my contact for with a bit more information about your interest how you'd like to help. I'd be happy to get you on Skype/IM and also add you to the planning Wave. The same goes for anyone else who comes my this thread... I'm all ears!

There are 3 of us in the UK looking into drupal church distribution-ey stuff. We have a wave (I think phil is part of it). Phil you're welcome to invite anyone into the waves that are useful. I've personally moved all my discussion onto Microsoft OneNote online.

Its not so great for editing at the same time. But its pretty good, its all online and integrates with onenote 2010. Anyways. This issue was started months ago so I'm guessing you've already had your meetings.
