Any volunteer to port this great module to Drupal 7? I would be happy to contribute testing and an updated README.txt file.

There is an note related to Drupal 7 on the module's project page under '6.x-2 Developmental Branch' section http://drupal.org/project/taxiselect

Well currently Alan. D and myself are trying to merge taxiselect into the module tagging. It might be interesting to get D7 support for tagging and join the efforts there. Just letting you know http://drupal.org/node/685008

As per EugenMayer's comment.

This module has taken up most of my free contribution time, and hasn't really had a huge uptake (~0.02% or just 54 of the 245,174 Drupal users), even though the back-end query generator blows away anything even remotely similar, if I must say so myself. Just run the other modules on a true large taxonomy [as per the earlier issues we looked at]

I haven't looked at the integration path yet (workload related), but it appears that these could easily be merged and his interface is much nicer, [I'm hoping that the suggested terms are optional though!].

Hi Alan,

yes suggesting terms is optional and is implemented by an API. Thats actually the way tagging has been build, extendable and configure. Also the Javasscript part is a pure jquery plugin which can be configured to use other wrappers etc.

The query language is the most important part needed in the backend, so this would be a blast.

Hopefully we can take the project forward to meat everybodys interests.

+1 for merging and joining forces for the two modules. I would be happy to contribute testing for the merged module.

Sounds great, but just a warning that we are both busy on seperate projects at the moment, so there is no ETA on this at the moment.

Cheers

That's really cool with me :) No worry about the ETA. All should know that you guys are volunteering. So nobody should expect an ETA ;) If someone wants a faster port to D7 then they could contribute a patch or hire someone to do so.

I have no plans to further develop this module. This is due to time limitations, internal complexities and very low uptake (<2%).
