Well done - this is a great idea. I am always getting clients turning white the first time i teach them to add content. I can imagine a situation where I could initailly turn off EVERYTHING except

Title
Body
[Submit]

and then when they gain confidence gradually turn back on the additional features.

I look forward to seeing what you do

Regards Joe

Hard to tell without any code to lookat, but how does this fit in with:
http://drupal.org/project/override_node_options
http://drupal.org/project/vertical_tabs

Currently I'm working on a releasable dev version for this module. I hope to have it ready within a few days.

subscribe, exactly what I have been looking for. Hopefully will be much more non-coder friendly than messing round with node-add.tpl.php.etc.etc

Version: » 6.x-1.x-dev

I've just added a dev version as a release. It will be available within the next 12 hours.

I may be wrong, but isn't this functionality covered by http://drupal.org/project/nodeformcols?

fabianderijk’s picture

No, that module makes it possible to fold an reorder items on the form, this module makes it possible to hide fields on the form.

Perhaps the module isn't described very well, but it allows you to hide form elements as well as place them in different columns. You can have different settings for different node types, too.
Discovered it a little while ago and using it to great effect on a client site I'm currently building. It's pretty cool.

The only problem with nodeformcols is that when hiding some elements you get all kind of errors, for example, if you have pathauto enabled, and you hide the fieldset with nodeformcols, the node won't have an automatic alias after you save it. Don't know if this is a bug that was solved in nodeformcols, but that's the reason I'm not using it.

Also, I love simple modules and this one is very simple.
