Issue Summary

First I was wondering if the Feeds module will work for ical feeds as did feedapi, ical parser, feed api mapper?

I am also trying to get full sync with google cal (import/export). Is this something you are working on in any dev versions?

What would this cost to support?

Thanks for any information you can provide.

iCal parser has a version 2.0 alpha that works with Feeds. It's got a set of basic tests (see issues queue). I've run it against a Google iCal feed import and it works - tests to follow. Making a feed available to Google calender to import is a feature of the Date module.

Thank you for your qhick response. I will set this up on my test site and post any issues I find.

I think the feed mapper is "built in" to feeds? I want to create (event) nodes on import.

Do you know if there is any docs on creating a feed for google to impot?

Have you used these feeds (import/export) together?

Will this conflict with feeds/ical parser? Like create duplicate nodes or post duplicate events on googlecal?

I appreciate your time to respond.

Thanks,

Chris

Yes there is no separate mapper module, it's part of feeds.

This is alpha software, it's possible things might change, and it's not been around all that long. So you might be the first, I'm not aware of documentation for what you want to do. It would be brilliant if you do manage if you could write some notes up to help others.

I really don't know about pulling ical feeds into google. I think you can do it manually, or you need a webcal server. I guess you might end up with duplicates, although if you can retain the GUID that google gives to items you might be able to avoid them.

I've got nothing to add except that I'd like to echo ekes' request for notes if you figure out what's the best way to go about syncing with Google calendar. No matter whether you're going to use Feeds or not.

My host was hacked and I just got my site back up. I will start working on this again tonight/tommorow

Thaks for your info. I will be working on this and keeping some rough docs as I go (for my own reference now) and I will post them when I get anything working. I will contact google about what is needed for the import to their calendar. I have read some and I see the webcal docs. I will see what I can do. Should I keep posting here for now?

Thanks,

Chris
