Hi!

This module looks to be duplicating (some of) the functionality of the "Apply for role" module. In general, I believe the objectives of both modules overlap enough to be worth considering merging the efforts, so I suggest that you contact svilen, the other module's maintainer, and see if you can work together in order to create a better but unique module instead of duplicating your efforts, which will always result in some duplicated work and thus, wasted time.

I was thinking that it was similar to Auto Assign Role. http://drupal.org/project/autoassignrole

Of course, this module can make it necessary to receive moderator approval for some roles. However, Auto Assign Role has some additional features as well. See the project page to see what I mean.

Hi!

Actually module is more similar to Auto Assign Role than to Apply for a role. Idea is to display available roles during registration form and to set some roles as "need admin approval", while Apply for a role gives option for already existing users to apply for another role.

We are open for any integration.

Hey, I use the Auto Assign Role too.

However, I'm not sure why this module HAS to force the user to select a role during registration - that should surely be a setting. For example, if I use auto assign role based on path, I might want the automatic assignment of role1 from role1/register to result in a blocked user awaiting approval and the assignment of role2 from role2/register to result in an activated user. That is already all more or less possible with this module, just not configurable.

Would really appreciate if that were the case!

Just opened a new issue for a specific request to remove the role selection on user registration if no role has been checked for selection in the configuration form, which is very useful for Auto Assign Role, see #936074: Hide the 'Choose a role' field if no role is selected for display on the registration form
