Is there a mod for Job / Recruitment Classifieds ?

Santy - April 8, 2004 - 09:32

Hi,
I am finding Drupal little hard to understand but loving its modularity and it has all the features which I wanted. I am in process of launching a portal which will have a recruitment section with following inputs and job search & display similar to Monster.
(1) Job Title
(2) Job Type : Full Time / Part-Time / Freelance / Consultancy
(3) Job Location | Country / State / City
(4) Job Categories : Hardware, Software, etc.
(5) Job Description

Is there any module for drupal, or any other external module which can be integrated with drupal to provide this feature.

Or if there is any workaround possible by some modification of any existing drupal module which may provide similar or somewhat similar results.

I am not a programmer, only a stupid enthusiastic newbie. So any help or pointers will be highly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance:
Santy

Try flexinode. It lets you define your own additional fields. Also, almost all of what you have suggested *could* be handled by regular nodes -- but I would still use flexinode, then you can call it a "job" instead of using story or something else.

Job Title == title of the node
Country == taxonomy or flexinode drop-down
State == taxonomy or flexinode drop-down
City == taxonomy or text field
Category == a taxonomy
Description == body of the node

A big thank you !!!

Dear Jon,
I don't know how to thank you and drupal. You have not only cleared one hurdle for me , but now with Flexinode I can try other ideas also which I thought I couldn't do without a dedicated module.

I think I need to drill down drupal extensilvey so that I don't miss such beauties.

Thanks Again!

How do I do that? Login to my host/site in this case a CPanel, then what?

--look for the phpMyAdmin link
--in the phpMyAdmin page, choose your drupal site's database
--click the SQL tab
--click the browse button and select the flexinode.mysql file from your hard drive

phpMySQLAdmin

quam - January 27, 2005 - 03:42

Many hosts have phpMySQLAdmin installed and accessible via the control panel. If so, some users find this app more user friendly than command line. To save time, I sometimes go to phpMySQLAdmin, select SQL, and then copy and paste a text file containing SQL statements/commands.

This was already posted... sorry, ok, time for bed.

Usability dead forum post pruning

1) This forum is no longer actively used. Please do not post in this forum, it will help us to keep the usability issues clear. Thank you for your help!
2) This is a feature or support request or other not related to Drupal usability.

Please see the appropriate issue queue http://drupal.org/project/issues or group on http://groups.drupal.org

If this had been a suggestion for usability improvements , I would have added an issue and posted the link here.
