Thanks for your work on this module.
Previously I had node/add/content-type for 3 different languages working perfectly, so that only relevant fixed-language vocabularies would display. But seem to have broken something when experimenting with localized and per language alternatives. Is rebuilding all the vocabs my best option? Will I run into problems if I delete existing vocabs and recreate using same names? Vocabs fixed as English (default) are the ones displaying on non-English node/add in addition to correct non-Eng language vocabularies. Cheers.

I hope this illustrates more specifically and clearly what is happening:

I have 3 content types (translation enabled, etc): A, B, C, and 9 vocabs also named A, B, C (each in 3 fixed-language versions). The vocabs are assigned to their corresponding content types.

If I create a new B-fi node (Finnish), then all fi vocabs are displayed correctly on fi/node/add/B, but also just the one B-en vocab (i.e. the English vocab which is assigned to this content type, but is now appearing on this non-English page).

Like wise for other nodes, so that if et/node/add/C, then all et language vocabs plus one English: the C-en vocab.

If I create a completely new vocab it will follow same pattern, so deleting and recreating my vocabs is not what I should be doing. A new vocab will display for the English and non-English node/add/content-type pages of whatever content type it is assigned to without respecting the language in which the node is being added.

Where do I go to fix this? I have been looking a lot in the tables, but can't figure out what I need to do.

OK. Pretty simple as it turned out.
Prior to messing with localized and per language, I had everything running fine with "mixed" content selection mode (admin/settings/language/i18n).
Now only the other options with "current language" are OK: e.g. 1. Current language and language neutral, 4. Only current language.
Why? I don't know. But got the functionality back.
