I'm not sure what's going on here. Oleg/litwol (http://drupal.org/user/78134) created two recent projects that don't have any kind of real description and are basically empty and serve no purpose. Now I get joke modules, but these two projects don't seem like it. Personally I think they need to be deleted. I already filed issues for both trying to get an explanation.
Do we need to warn Oleg? Did his account get hacked?

bdragon commentedThey were in fact created on purpose in response to discussion in #drupal earlier today.
Discussion is ongoing in IRC at this time.
dave reidOk I'll try and listen in, but I'm still not sure why they should be official projects.
deekayen commented+1 on deleting the project
Comment #4
gregglesDoesn't make them right. The webmasters list got a mail saying that drupal.org had been hacked.

nevets commented+1 on delete from me, they seem like spam projects.

robloachEDIT: I don't use either of these modules. The "global" namespace could be a good space for some maps-related module. As for "litwol", its his name, so I don't see it interfering with anyone else's namespace. In summary, I see no reason to delete "litwol", while the "global" namespace might actually be wanted.
-1 to delete "litwol". +1 to reallocation of "global".
deekayen commentedI was only referring to litwol project.
skyredwangOK +1 delete
Comment #10
dave reid@Rob Loach: You mean you're using http://drupal.org/project/global and not http://drupal.org/project/globalredirect right? Until we get a better description for the 'global' project it seems to be in the same case as the litwol project.
dave reidNow I'm just confused. :(
Comment #12
gregglesLitwol agreed in irc to delete them.
killes@www.drop.org commentedLitwol apparently has asked people to endorse his "module" here.
dave reidDid someone block litwol's account by accident or purpose?
bdragon commentedDave Reid: Don't worry about it, just a little bit of slapstick comedy between litwol and infra/webmasters.
gregglesI did block it. Litwol justified the creation of these nodes by the philosophy that they made him laugh therefore he should create them.
It makes me laugh to think that his account is blocked therefore I should block him. I don't intend it to be permanent and assume someone will fix it when he cares enough.
killes@www.drop.org commentedVery funny. :)
dave reidSounds good.
likewhoa commentedplease port to drupal-7
Comment #20
likewhoa commentedoops didn't mean to set active, but request still stands :D
Comment #21
gregglesAfter some more discussion he is now unblocked.
Litwol explained that we has reserving namespaces for projects and that there is no documentation about how to do that. So, I've created documentation for it: http://drupal.org/node/709398

dave reidThanks for the follow-up greggles and litwol. That certainly helps explain things. I'm disappointed that didn't come across originally with the projects, explanations, or issues, but like was pointed out, we don't have documentation on what to do. Moving onward and upward.
killes@www.drop.org commentedNot having documentation is no excuse to behave like a complete ass.
This is the single most disrespectful experience I've had on drupal.org except of spam in over eight years.
avpadernoI agree with killes; not having documentation is not an excuse to do what litwol did. The simple fact he didn't have a valid justification is already a reason he should not have created those projects, and cause such alarm on the community.
I think that in case of doubt, it is always better to ask before to do something. IRC is there for that, and there are always people ready to help you; I have always found somebody ready to tell me if what I had in mind was the correct way to do something.
