Hi,
The image gallery fails to work with the category module (4.7.0). When both of these modules and the taxonomy wrapper are installed, it is impossible to add images to a gallery. This may be a similar issue to http://drupal.org/node/21314
I tried both installing the category module first, then the image module and vice versa, but unfortunately the problem is independent of the order in which you install them.
If you need more information, please just send me an email.
Cheers,
Stella

marcoBauli commentedi tryed with latest cvs image and category modules and seems to work now.
What exactly does not work for you?
Eventually you can try upgrading to the most recent versions of the mods and see if it fixes.
cheers

heydg commentedi am experiencing stella's problem
i installed the category module for 4.7 (june 6; v1.100.2.15) and subsequently installed the image module (july 18; v1.197.2.2).
no image gallery taxonomy was created and 'administer image galleries' is missing from the menu.
i have disabled the category module (and restored the previous taxonomy module), and turned off+on image. that had no effect, so i will next try emptying the image stuff in the db and reinstalling using either the update 4.7 or current cvs version of image. re the upgrade script, i am assuming the instructions mean replace the /image module folder with the new files, *and then* execute the script from the installation root.

hyperlogos commentedI am using image.module 1.197.2.2 2006/07/18 and category.module 1.117 2006/09/09 and I, too, am having this problem. I am able to create an image gallery hierarchy and so on, but I cannot place images into it. It simply does not show up under categories. Doesn't it make more sense that this would actually be a problem with the category module (or one of its submodules) though?

hyperlogos commentedI don't know if this fixes the problem with category.module since I ditched category.module after getting tired of it breaking all over the place and screwing up my site, but check out http://drupal.org/node/21314#comment-155992 for a possible fix. It fixed the same problem on my site without category.module. I think the problem was caused by the taxonomy wrapper anyway. either that or my misuse of category legacy module :) Anyway, someone still using category.module should test this so we can find out if this is the problem.

sunDevelopment and support for 4.7.x and 4.6.x has ended. You are strongly advised to upgrade to Drupal 5.x or 6.x.
Marking as won't fix.
