I am setting up my site so whenever I create a News item I also want to send it out as a newsletter. So I created a Story, selected to send the newletter. But it I want to resend the same news story for some reason there doesn't appear to be a way to do it, or what am I missing? If I go back to a Story I previously sent out as a newsletter, and go down to the "Send newsletter" tab, all I see is "This newsletter has been sent". How do I remove the "This newsletter has been sent" flag so I can resend the same newsletter?

Simplenews has no interface for this. There is a simplenews action that can resent and there is a contrib module that resends but I can't remember which.

I did some searching for this module that allows resending but I couldn't find it. Can you give me any hints?

In my searching I found this same question (I'm embarrased I didn't find it the first time) but the question was from 2007!!! There was mention of a feature request that was in the feature queue 3 years ago. There seemed to be momentum to make a change that allows resending of Newletters. Do you know what happened? Can we get this added as a feature in the next release? Here are the use cases I have personally run into and I havn't even launch my site yet:

1. I've been sending test newsletters. Yes, I know there is a "send a test" option but I needed to make sure that sending a test message and sending the real message does the same thing. Seems silly I now have to create another Story and then copy and paste the contents into a new Story, just so I can resend the newsletter.

2. The email message doesn't go out because some error in the email system. (I had a slight misconfiguration when I first started using this module).

3. There was an error in the "Story" I was sending out, I updated the story, and wanted to resend.

Another point on this issue: When you run though a sequence of events as described in this issue: http://drupal.org/node/591896, the interesting thing is that Story's I created BEFORE I installed the SimpleNews module, I can resend stories all day long. The "Newletter" tab never disables the "Don't Send, Send Test, and Send Newsletter" options. This was the behavior that I much prefer over stopping the user from sending again. Actually, I can't figure out a use case for preventing the administrator from being able to resend the newsletter again...
