Hej,

would there be interest in creating a option to have hourly bookings per day?

I am thinking of it this way: Click on a day, jquery displays an inline window allowing to book for a couple of hours.

how would a day even show a visual representation of this? I mean we currently have just simple colors for each state. There would be no real way to show this.

Yes thats correct. You would just see that there is a booking on this day. Once you click on the date you would see that it is booked for a certain timeframe only.

Hi,

I've just come across this module and the Hourly booking granularity is something that I am looking for. Apart from that it looks ideal for what I need to achieve :)

Dear all,
I ended up not implementing this - instead I used the module Resource Conflict with Calendar (CCK, Views)

Sorry.

No need to apologize, this is just a feature request. we all ended up using something else for cover this need.

About this request, I can imagine a box displayed with ajax when one clicks on a day partially booked.

How would booked, provisionally booked, available hours be selected? A dropdown for each hour for each month would be like 700 or so dropdowns. Adding an edit link beside each week would cut it down to around 170 or edit link for each day would be 24? Maybe have edit links for month, week and day to accommodate those who do want to manage by hour or not.

Without jquery hourly display would have to be by week or by day with previous and next navigation.

With jquery monthly would work but would still need to build framework for daily display by hour? Also, if we go by hour, we need to offer even more granular control to the minute. Things don't always start at the top of the hour.

Partially Booked for Month Display
In this case 'Partially Booked' doesn't directly oppose the term 'Fully Booked'. Partially Booked means it is a Multi-Status day that can contain a Fully-Booked-Half-Day.

For non-hour granularity and if we are working with monthly view only, there seems to be a need to show a partially booked day because renters will leave on a day where someone else could check in on that same day. But when looking at the calendar it shows booked. The owner may lose a whole rental day because a potential renter may see that day as "Fully Booked" or Reserved All Day.

Assuming a partially booked day is divided in half. One half is a status. The other half is a different status on the same day. Need additional day variations.

Day Status
- Available
- Fully Booked
- Provisionally Booked

Day Multi-Status (A)
- Available/Fully Booked
- Fully Booked/Available

Day Multi-Status (B)
- Provisionally Booked/Fully Booked
- Fully Booked/Provisionally Booked

Day Multi-Status (C)
- Available/Provisionally Booked
- Provisionally Booked/Available

...maybe with a diagonal background css image for each state.

Since we have minute control over each day, then we can freely apply any combination of status. Add the options in the dropdown?

In my opinion, availability calendars is about resources that are booked per day, not intra-day. Within this restriction we see that our main usage is within holiday rental. So I think that the primary focus of this module should stay on per day booking. The fact that split day statuses were added has to do with the fact hat most holiday rentals are more per night rentals than per day rentals, and thus people arrive in the afternoon and leave in the morning. #10 already explained so. So personally, I don't see a split day as a resource that can be rent out twice a day.

Thus this module is not about resources that can be booked per hour: restaurants, meeting rooms, projectors, dentists, ... I think other tools exist for this need that do a far better job. Having said so, I can think of some cases where there could be a need to be able to present more information to the user on a per day basis.

Conclusion: I'm inclined to mark this issue as a won't fix and would ask people that are/were looking for this if #1083800: Notes per Day will satisfy there needs. So to all subscribers: please let us know if #1083800: Notes per Day would be fine for you, or, if not, why other alternatives, like the one in comment #8 don't work for you.

I am in agreement with fietserwin. won't fix, sorry. This is beyond scope of this module.

May I please have your attention for issue #470994: search , especially comment 16 and further? Your reactions are welcome, even if this is the complete other way as where you are thinking of.
