I added the line timeoutFn: functionName and added that function to some js that I load in head and I get a bizarre jquery cycle error that timeoutFn is not a function. How else can I add a timeoutFn?

Changing to duplicate of #733328: Advanced Settings does not honor functions

That issue has an attached patch to try out.
