It would mean worlds to us if we could share our story and case study with the Drupal community. Designmess is a community dedicated to web designers and developers proudly built on Drupal. We have alot of Drupal readers, and it would be great if we could get our story promoted to the front page.

Most front page promoted showcases are success stories - and your write-up is more of a "Look what I did!" story.
Parts of it are rather negative ("I don't know what the future of Designmess will be" and "I guess I'll just have to see where the site goes.") and you seem to be seeking help more than you're writing about your site.
I do appreciate the fact that there's not a huge business behind the site - a lot of write-ups come from company-developed sites.
Basically I think this write-up came too soon. In a few more months you might have more details to give about the development and growth of the site that the Drupal community could benefit from.

taz3r commentedOh I see.
I didn't mean to be negative. Its simply a way of expressing that I don't know what the future holds for us. I'm kinda a go with the flow kind of guy.
Well could you enable full html input on my forum post so that the screenshots display?
Anyways, thanks for your time.

gdemetI think the informal and personal tone makes this case study quite approachable, and I appreciate that you're using Drupal to help build a site targeted at the design community. However, I do agree with silverwing that this case study should be framed as more of a success story; in particular, the "Future of Designmess" paragraph doesn't really provide that impression as currently written. I'd also like to see more copy on how and why you made the decision to use Drupal, and what Drupal brought to the table that wouldn't have been possible otherwise.
Given that you've had to deal with performance issues on the site, you may want to get those fully straightened out before featuring this on the home page, as sites that get featured on the home page get a lot of traffic and scrutiny. I think it would also be helpful if you talked more about how much traffic the site gets, how many authenticated users it has, and what your server hosting infrastructure is.
I'm leaving the Full HTML filter turned off for now in case you want to make any further edits to the case study; if not, I'd be more than happy to enable it.

taz3r commentedThanks! I'll make some revisions and add a bit more copy to the case study.
If you turn Full HTML filter on, will I still be able to make changes?
I'm very comfortable with HTML if that's what you are worried about.

silverwing commentedFull HTML requires special roles to use - general users can't edit any post with Full HTML and images.
I noticed your images have the WordPress logo prominently displayed in the middle of it... just sayin' :)

taz3r commentedAh, I see. Well I guess I'll need to make my changes to the post first then.
Haha, that would be an article of an interview with a few Wordpress developers.
I've used both Wordpress and Drupal for different things. Both have their merits. It's just that I run Designmess on Drupal because Wordpress can't handle it.
Can't exactly be biased against either one, if you know what I mean. I write articles on both Drupal and Wordpress. (http://designmess.com/article/why-designmess-runs-drupal)
So can I make my changes and add to the post, then can you turn full HTML on?

taz3r commentedThanks. I've made the changes I needed to.

gdemetOkay, I've cropped and optimized the screenshots so they don't run into each other and take forever to download and turned on Full HTML.
This case study is now ready for review by other site maintainers; personally, I still have some concerns about the performance issues reported in the first draft of the case study, but I'd like others to weigh in as well.

avpadernoIn general, the showcase seems fine, to me; maybe it should add some details in some points, and remove details in others.

silverwing commentedI'm still -1
In 6 - 9 months I'll be willing to reconsider, but until then I'm still in the "too soon" camp

gdemetOkay, moving to "won't fix".
