Does this patch answer to the issue reported in http://drupal.org/node/724316 ?
I have applied the patch but still observed the same behavior. Is there anything else to do than just applying the patch ?

After applying the patch, you have to update the variables for each language you have on the website.

The 6.x version of "Front page" is not maintained any more. This issue is closed for this reason.
Please upgrade to a supported version of the module and re-open if you still have the issue.
