Show time RANGE as a block in day view

Hi,

Firstly I would like to thank you for this really great module. I think the usecase I am trying to implement is slightly different to what this module is trying to achieve, and I just want to confirm that what I am trying to do is not achievable with it.

I am not trying to book one of a fixed list (and duration) of slots in a day. Instead I want to be able to book a time slot of any time length, any time in the day - and, most importantly, to show the time-range as a coloured block - whose size and position relates to the time span of the booking in the calendar day view - just like iCal does.

I know I can set short custom time slots (e.g. 5 or 10 mins) to allow the booking start time at any time, and I can set the end time to any time. The main challenge is the display of this. At the moment I can only show the booking in the 5 or 10 minute slot of the start time, and it looks like the rest of the day is available...

If anyone knows how I can show a time-span coloured block - that starts at the start time of the time range and ends as the end time of the time range - in the day view (possible also week view) - that would probably do.

Please see attached picture to see what I mean.

If this module or the calendar module could do this then that would be absolutely fantastic.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
