Hi
Firstly let me thank you for taking up the much needed Teaser tweaking project. From what I have read in forms, there is a need for
1. Displaying images or thumbnails with Teasers.
2. If nodes are short like weblinks teaser can be full nodes... meaning user should be able to rate it and submit comments.
So based on the node type the user can select how the teaser would be displayed. I know this appears very complex ( at least to me) but much needed feature!
Thanks once again

taherk commentedTo add to this further.... teaser should have capability to just display image and title. and when user clicks on title he is taken to node.
This would be useful if I were creating a recipe site. I can display food images and titles and user can get a snapshot of what all recipes are there in that category.

acp commentedHi,
You're welcome ;).
I was about to answer that this seems more of an node & theme issue but I got to see the view you have on teaser tweaking. I think I need this feature too, so it should be first in my list of todos.
I don't follow you on this one though :). What you want is that when the teaser is short enough, that the rating and "submit comment" links appear underneath it ? Because if you just click on the node's title, you access the node and have then access to these functionnalities.
As for you only image and title request, that is in my opinion only a node & theme issue. You should set the teaser length to 0, therefore only title is printed, and hopefully, if I plan everything well with your first request, the image will be shown...
I need some time to find a proper solution, but it seems feasible to me.

taherk commentedFor nodes that are weblinks or short flexinodes, user may have no reason to read the node further as he gets all info in teaser. So making the user click just to rate is not fair :)
I dont know if rating like simple vote or userreview can be attached to teasers.

acp commentedOk so basically, the rating/comment has to be applied on the full node, and not only the teaser itself. I mean, you don't want the teaser to be a node by itself, only want to have access to those two functions for the teaser's node, right ? If this is the case, that should be feasible. If you want to have a different node for the teaser, that's feasible too, but out of scope of this module.

taherk commentedYes that is right. & would be great to have.
I saw there are lot of posts here asking for various customizations of teasers... So with this added features, i expect this module will be heavily used.

acp commentedHi there,
just a small post to say that I won't be able to work on this before a couple of weeks. Don't hesitate to remind me though if it takes too long ;).

techczech commentedLet me just add my thanks for the module and my vote for the functionality of being able to determine teaser length by content type. BTW: There is a very easy way to just display an image and title in a node listing using the Views module - it gives pretty good output even without theming.

acp commentedHi,
I'm finally back. I'll get working on two things in the following days :
acp commentedTeaser length per content type is added on CVS version (should be available tomorrow for download). Note however that length settings only apply when you retrimm all contents using tweakbox. If you create a new content, default sitewide settings apply. That will be changed in the nearby future (maybe tomorrow ;)).
It's now possible to set a "no teaser" option (per content type, not for the default value [yet]), by entering a -1 length.
acp commentedAdded trimming upon submission with respect to the settings of the different content types. I'll now take a look at the comment/rating issue. Btw, it's possible to disable teasers by giving a negative length, something which isn't possible for the default settings. That can be easily added, if some find this usefull, I can modify the select list for the default teaser length option and add a "disabled" entry (or maybe change it to a textfield).
