durpla 6.14

installed mods:
user news
modr8

i installed the modr8 modual to allow me to create a user account wither moderation ability to approve or dis-aprove comments and stories submitted to my site before going live. After installing modr8 i found that the mod requires the modoratoer to have permission to administer nodes in the nodes permissions. Allowing the modorater this permission this allows the modorator to modorate and edit all my website which i dont want. i only want the modorator to be able to approve new subission into the modr8 Moderated content que.

I have tried allsorts or different permission to try to find a way to do this but not able to allow access to modr8 without allowing access to edit the whole site.

how can this be done?

i though there must be a way as this mod would be pointless as this way its just the same as the built in contant View, edit, and delete your site's content. under the admin content section.

You should be able to moderate content without administer nodes - but only if the content is initially published.

Hi,

Could you please share the solution you found out as I'm having the same problem. In my situation moderators of a specific role can moderate all content on my site while I just want them to moderate content they are suppose to moderate such as article moderator should only be able to moderate articles and not any other content types.

Hi there, you may want to try Publish Content : http://drupal.org/project/publishcontent

Doesn't really seem to do anything improving the situation. Having the moderators have full access to ALL nodetypes just doesn't work in the real world. :(

Can you tell us which is the easier way? I'm having the same problem...... :(

Thanks in advance for your help.

Kind regards,

Same problem here.

Current settings allow my Message Moderators to "Approve" or "Do Nothing." Is there any way to give message moderators "Delete" privileges?

I think this is somewhat related to this one #797696: Moderation per role, if this one gets addressed then you can assign moderator per content type and you can provide edit/delete permissions for particular content type to the moderator

To allow users without "administer nodes" access to moderate content in Drupal 6, use the Modr8 Permissions module and set the node default to "published". The module controls access to nodes in moderation (even when they're published).
