Hi,

Looking for a moule that does the same as wp-o-matic (ie find relevant content on the web, scrape it, and then create publish it as a post).

Does anyone have any recommendations as to which module is best suited to my needs for Drupal 5x - presume Feeds does something similar but it is only supported for 6x.

Have you tried the core Aggregator module? It's been a while since I've worked with D5, but it might get you at least part way to where you want to go. Of course, D5 is coming up on end-of-life. It might be time to upgrade, if you can.
