After spending ages trying to debug what i thought was a permissions issue ( http://drupal.org/node/792046 ) i may have had a bit of a breakthrough. I've stumbled accross the time format page for long, short formats etc and rather strangely all of the values in the drop down boxes are blank. There are multiple entries for each of the drop down boxes but the values themselves are blank. Even if i create a new format, knowing exactly what i set it to, it doesn't show in the list. My 'custom formats' page has four values each with the 'remove' links, but again no values displayed!

What has happened, where have my values gone?
Is it possible this could cause date fields not to be displayed? ( i really hope so ).

I have not experienced this and it seems no-one else has either.
Did you manage to get this resolved?

This might not even be a date issue... it might be a core issue since long, medium, short, is initially supplied by core and date just extends that.
