I have created my first quiz using the quiz module.

When testing it out, I ran into a scoring error on a matching question.

Here's what happened....

I created three matching questions / answers

When taking the test, I answered all three parts of the matching question correctly.

The quiz feedback page showed that I got all three correct (green checkmarks).

But I received a score of zero.

So, again, here's the situation: all answers correct and marked as being correct but no points scored.

Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks for the help.

Title: Scoring Error w/Matching » Bug in matching score and feedback

Are you sure it is version quiz 3.5 ? The pink score box showing "score 0 of 3" was introduced only in quiz 4.x so i guess this is related to branch 4.x. I myself have some weird problems with matching scoring and feedback see the attached snapshot. I guess falcon is working on this. Changing issue properties to reflect the bug.

I was unable to reproduce this issue. However you could try to open the matching question and save it again without making any changes. I made a change in the scoring system that might make bugs like this happen for questions created with some of the old Quiz 4.x versions.

What I tried:
1. Create two matching questions. Two subquestions in each
2. Created a new quiz
3. Added the two matching questions to the quiz. One of them with max_score of 2, the other with a max_score of 4.
4. Answered the quiz correctly.

I was able to reproduce this as well using Quiz module version 6.x-3.5.

Please see attached screenshot showing three matching questions answered correctly, yet the questions is marked with a red X.

Ok, I need a description on how to recreate this error in order to fix it. If I find it in my own testing I will offcourse fix it. (All relevant data from your database would also help)

Sorry for having taken so long in replying to your helpful responses.

A few days after posting my question, I went on an extended vacation.

I'm back, and I can confirm that I had installed 6.x-4.x-dev rather than 6.x-3.5 -- just as sivaji suggested.

When I installed the latest stable module, my problem went away.

Using 6.x-3.5, I haven't been able to recreate the grading error that NToronto writes about.

If I can replicate it, I'll provide you with the details.

I close this one for now then. If the error turns up again with an explanation on how to reproduce it we will fix it. If not we hope it died from old age.

Same error with 6.x-3.5
Regardless of the count of correct answers the feedback is always:
"You got 2 of 25 possible points.
Your score: 8%"

Ok, it seems to still exist in 3.5.

Does anyone see this bug in 4.x?

I mark this bug report as a 3.5 bug that has been fixed in 4. It will be closed once Quiz 4 is released.
