First off, I, the admin, can see forums and post in forums. Everyone else cannot, they get the forums not defined error. Yes, they are allowed to view forums in acess controls.

Second issue, with logintoboggan, when a user logs in, it takes them back to the main page, but sans the menu that appears when you've logged in and it still asks to log in. However, when you go to another page, you are apparently logged in, it just doesn't let you know. Anyone know what it up with either of these issues?

I am using loggintobbogan and also trying to setup the forums on my test site. Now, there is no problem with the loggintobbogan side of things and since you haven't reposted I assume that you managed to get that portion working. Which leads to my question.. how did you manage to get the forums working?

I am using a modified version of the channel_nine theme. When I log in as the primary user account I am able to access "localhost/mysite/forum" and see the forums and containers I previously created. However when I try to log into the same url as an anonymous or authenticated user I get the message "no forums defined".

The odd thing is that, i have enabled the Active Forum Topics block and this does display a dummy forum topic for anonymous users. I can click the link and view the forum topic and traverse backwards from "localhost/mysite/forum/topicbranch/theActivePost" to "localhost/mysite/forum/topicbranch/" without any problems, its only the "localhost/mysite/forum/" that prints out the error message. I am quite certain that the permissions are setup correctly.. if they weren't then I would be denied from viewing the actual forum topic I posted with the admin account.

I am running drupal v4.74 on my local computer as a test site. Please bear with me if this question has already been answered elsewhere..this is my first post on drupal, I am totally new to the system and am still in deep learning mode... I tried using the search facility on drupal but did not find any answers.. any help would be really appreciated as i'm not too sure how to proceed with fixing the problem..

ok, after giving up on the drupal search facility.. i jumped onto google and ended up here: drupal.org/node/101661. In my particular instance, I had granted authority to the anonymous user role to access content && access comments, What I was missing was granting view access to the anonymous user role under the category permissions section of the access control for the forums vocabulary... http://localhost/TESTSITE_drupal-4.7.4/admin/access/category.
