The Packt Open Source Content Management System Award is designed to encourage, support, recognize and reward an Open Source Content Management System (CMS). The winning CMS will be awarded $5,000. First runner-up and second runner-up will not go away empty handed, taking away $3,000 and $2,000 respectively. Today, Packt announced the five finalists that will be put forward to the final voting stage:
After six weeks and registering almost twelve thousand nominations, the Open Source CMS Award finalists can be revealed. The following final five received the most public nominations during the course of the six weeks and are listed in alphabetical order:

Great to see that the efforts of drupallers were not in vain. And that $5000 will be handy for drupal.org!
What is not clear on packt's site is where/how visitors can vote in the final stage.
Edit: I suppose they will announce the url before the final voting begins on 12th September.

Figures, the first one gave me a "Internal server error" so I just resubmitted to confirm there was a problem , guess it worked after all :)
Hmmm...
I just received the same error only my comment, unlike yours, was not saved and therefore not posted. Darn.
I'll try again.

YOUR VOTE COUNTS! Let's publicize this again 9/12 through 11/7
I had no doubt Drupal would make it to the list of finalists! Since voting for the next round will begin on September 12 and end on November 7, I'm hoping the Drupal community will come together and collectively vote for itself during that time. We need EVERYONE to vote for Drupal! It only took me a minute or two to vote during the 1st round and it was quite easy.
I recommend we publicize this CMS competition again on 9/12 through 11/7 and that, if possible, one of our gifted graphics folks develop something for the top-left-corner of the drupal.org homepage where the newsletter and Drupal conferences are usually publicized. Also, if we have a Drupal newsletter coming out anytime soon, it would be great to mention this CMS competition somewhere in it.
Not only will winning help bring more users and developers to Drupal, but the funds will certainly come in handy. Let's all help Drupal win $5,000 and the title Packt Open Source CMS Award Winner, 2006!!! Please keep in mind that there are various Drupal core and contributed modules/projects that need funding. The developers working hard on these and other projects could certainly benefit from a 1st place win. As a sidenote, I'd like to point out that individual and company donations for these projects are requested from the Drupal community; after all, everyone benefits from a strong and vibrant developer network.
Rock on, Drupal!

Alphabetical order
Servus, Mariun.
The results were alphabetized...
And of course every community was drumming up members to vote -- I just wonder why Typo3 didn't make the cut. But that's past, let's get prepared to vote for Drupal later this month to win the forth vote of the jury for Drupal.

e107 is more a portal, and it seems to me it's popular with webmasters who don't want to dive into tech stuff.

Perhaps this merits posting on the front page (just like http://drupal.org/node/82272) to get maximum attention from drupallers.
Vote for Drupal as "Best CMS" & potentially win an iPod Nano!
Voting is now open and ends on November 7!
As mentioned in Packt's Open Source CMS finalists announced, it would be great if folks would
vote TODAY for Drupal as "the best CMS" and help Drupal claim the $5,000 firest place prize.
You'll see Packt is giving away two iPod Nanos per the following on their web site:
