Hi
I found a month ago great replacement for lightbox in drupal - fancybox
http://drupal.org/project/fancybox
it is nice lightweight module, more nice than lightbox and it is a completely jquery solution (lightbox drupal module is based on own prototype libraries)
However as far I am not sure if lightbox module will be needed for 3.x. version (3.x version will be full of jquery amazing things), if you will plan to support lightbox, maybe you can try to look to support fancybox too.
thanks
Igor

scroogie commentedWell, we will have a look at Fancybox, Lightbox and http://drupal.org/project/node_gallery_display Node Gallery Display after we stabilized the 3.x version. I have some ideas regarding the easier integration of such plugins that don't integrate with Views, but it will have to wait for later. Perhaps, until then, you can talk to the fancybox devs to make their module integrate with Views.

justintime commentedFirst, be sure to just try fancybox, because I don't know that anyone's actually attempted to use it. It may "just work" (we can all dream right :) ).
As a module maintainer, unless I absolutely have to have the feature that a module provides, I won't integrate my module with another module that doesn't have a stable release. When a module is in dev, they are free to break and change things at will, and it makes for a nightmare to keep up with.
If fancybox hits stable and it doesn't work with NG3, then reopen this issue.

scroogie commentedI totally agree with that sentiment. As I've just seen, fancybox requires jquery_update, which in turn might conflict with our jquery usage. As it also doesn't have a 6.x release, I think we can skip it. So which is the most used *box module that we will have to support? Is it only lightbox? In that case I guess we can close this.

dddave commentedLightbox and colorbox are working fine with NG3. I guess this is fixed, isn't it?
marktheshark commentedSorry to resurrect an old thread, but how does one enable colorbox with Node Gallery 3?
dddave commentedNothing special here. Simply go to /admin/content/node-type/node-gallery-image/display/basic and set the display to the colorbox version.
Please be aware that you need jquery update for colorbox which might interfere with jquery_ui. See also: #1091202: Manual Sorting of images fails
Comment #8
scroogie commentedNode Gallery and the manual sorting works with jquery update. You only need to make sure that you are using the correct version of jquery UI (the library, not the module). See here: http://drupal.org/node/1023396

spgd01 commentedColorbox works if you change the field display setting to colorbox or you change the view fields to colorbox. However it does not show the pagers that colorbox uses. Any ideas on how to get the colorbox pager to work?
marktheshark commentedOK, kinda got it to work (don't know if I prefer it to lightbox2 though...).
Had to set the Colorbox gallery mode to 'page' to be able to cycle all images displayed by a view (not very straightforward imho...).
Default caption is the node title, and stays up for a second or so. Haven't found how to use the gallery image node caption (body) for a caption yet.

scroogie commentedmarktheshark: If you get everything configured like you intended, would you be so kind as to write up a small help text? That would be great.
scroogie commentedDidn't want to issue a tag. Wanted to change the component.
marktheshark commentedI'm setting up image galleries on a new project. If I manage to tune everything to my liking, I'll come back with a mini-guide.
