I know there was a request before and it was closed, but I'd like to have you reconsider adding the ability to have a field be conditional on a user role.

I would be really nice to not have use two modules to control whether a user sees fields based on the values of other fields and their role.

I think you can do it with Content Permissions + ACL. You will set settings per role on a conditional field.
