Video module will not get thumbnails or transcode at all

I have downloaded every single release of the video module for drupal 6 including the dev modules. No matter what I do it will not transcode.
I do not get any errors in my apache log file, nor do I get any errors in drupal. It looks like it tries to make the thumbnails but doesn't and leaves me no error to diagnose.

Currently testing with this:

I have ffmpeg installed
FFmpeg version 0.5.2

I have the video module installed
Video 6.x-4.x-dev

I have a custom content type with a title, body, and cck video field
