On the 25+ sites I've used image assist on I've never once wanted the alt and title tags to show up under the image. I usually end up taking care of it with CSS or, if I'm in a hurry, just leaving the attributes blank. I can't imagine why anybody would want this in the first place, but at least there should be an option to shut it off somewhere, even if it's not the default option.

I would love if image assist helped me get images into content first, then helped me do captioning stuff if I need it (I never do).

I agree! I would like to see a way to specify alt tags on the image withOUT them showing up as captions underneath the image.
