If I understand #57 in #201269: Synonym collapsing in core and the current project page's description, the 'Synonyms' module is supposed to do synonym collapsing, like older versions of Synonym Collapsing used to do. However, this is not working for me with the current stable release of 'Synonyms'.
Example: I have a freetaging vocabulary with the term "World Wide Fund For Nature", synonym with "WWF". If I enter "WWF" in the taxonomy form on the node editing page, the synonym is not expanded to "World Wide Fund For Nature".
If this feature is not yet implemented, please feel free to change this issue to a feature request.
Thanks & greetings, -asb

duozerskI was referencing to the feature of replacing the synonyms with the tags from the Vocabulary with Unitag enabled.
For instance, you are tagging with the word 'cool' and it is the synonym of the tag 'awesome' (that is already in your vocabulary) - then the Unitag will tag your node with the tag 'awesome' after saving the node.
It is under Unitag -> Settings: Enable synonym replacement. (Synonyms will automatically be replaced by the base term.)
