Views filtering - ignore year (and minutes)

I'm trying to set up an "on this day in history" view.

I've set up a CCK node with ddmmyyyy

What I want to do is set up a view, which only filters on ddmm, and leaves year,hour and minutes as wildcards

So if it's October 1st, my view will show nodes which carry the date:

1st October 2005
1st October 1970 etc.

Is this possible at the moment? And pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated.
