Distinction to Feeds

Importer module provides an easy way for creating database tables from various files

Hi - this sounds a lot like Feeds + Data to me. Feeds is an importer API and Data is a table API. They integrate neatly. Together they seem to do what Importer module does.

Is that the case?

If so, I would love to see where we can work together :-)
