Insert image into a regular story from the node

Hello, i'm using drupal the lst 3 weeks. i want to ask you how can i insert an image into a storie from the node? I tried image module but it creates a new content type. i want to add images to news. isn't that possible ?

If the image is specific to the story then just upload the image with the story and link it directly. Uncheck from the "list" column so it doesn't show a download link inside the node. You'll see the url right under the listed file.
Make sure your input filter allows for image tags.

Isn't there anything more simple that tinymce? i tried tinymce but it's too much for simply upload a picture and display at news. Understand me ? (sorry for my english)
