Fivestar in views: cannot change "dafault appearance" to "Fivestar stars: display only"

Stars show as they should for a node but not in view.

I am having the same problem.

No matter how I try to configure it, my fivestar ratings only show up as the text percentage "default appearance."
I cannot get it to display the fivestar widget.

Same Probloem here.

No matter what I set as "Appearance", after Saving and Reediting it, it is always set to "Default appearance".

That drives me crazy

I've looked through the code to the best of my ability and my limited skills yielded no result.
Does anyone else have any idea how to fix this issue?

Apparently this is not a fivestar issue.
It is an issue with Voting API and is addressed in this link
