Can you please create explicit instructions detailing how to set up and use webcams?
Based on the brief description it looks like a great module that can be the foundation of my site, but after struggling more then 24 hours, I can not figure out how to set it up and use it. A live example would be very helpful. Readme or help documentation would be very useful.
Thank You

uddhi108 commentedButterfly,
there is an example of this module on Krishna.com (http://www.krishna.com/webcams-1) and then there is a list of links where we use the webcams module. I'd be happy to help if you still need some assistance.

N-Crowd commentedI figured out how to make the Webcams module work :-)
Here's quick instructions so others don't have to reinvent the wheel.
1: Upload and activate the Webcams module
2: Set Webcams module settings -- Site configuration -> Webcams
3: Download, install and configure free software that will capture an image using your Webcam, and set FTP upload parameters to your appropriate website folder (The first free program I found was FWink - [limited to one image capture/upload per minute or fewer])
3: Create Content -> Webcams
5: Edit the new Webcams content page and insert pointers to the image that gets uploaded - ie: http://website.com/files/webcam.jpg
The only issue that remains for me is that the software I used for the FTP upload is limited to only one image per minute and I was hoping for faster updates. Any ideas anyone may have for better image capture and FTP transfer software are welcome.

MtRoxx commentedN-Crowd, thank you for the details. I have followed them, but do not see an image. I'm using Drupal 7. Suggestions anyone?

MtRoxx commentedI set the webcam module up on another website without issue. Everything worked great - until I chose to hide the title of the webcam. Now the image is gone as well. When I go back and try to show the title of the webcam that does not work. Now I have neither the title or the image.
This is probably the issue I have had before, I started off by hiding the display. I believe the bug is in the hiding the display text - is hiding the display

wingbarscafe commentedHas anyone else had this problem and been able to solve it? The instructions above that worked for others have not been able to get past this error. Using Drupal 6.22
warning: Parameter 1 to theme_webcams_webcam() expected to be a reference, value given in /home/jim/drupal.wingbarscafe.com/includes/theme.inc on line 668.
Thanks,
Jim

wingbarscafe commentedMy issue was resolved by downgrading php from 5.3 to 5.2.17. No more error messages and the webcam came right up.

chicagomom commentedI have created a basic documentation page, if you'd like to refer to (and link to) it:
