Just rolled this, it's a single line but I needed it for a project :)

STATUS is part of RFC2447 as an optional descriptive component. (http://www.kanzaki.com/docs/ical/) and is also the same format as SUMMARY or DESCRIPTION so can just be parsed by date_ical_parse_text.
