I'm wondering what might be better, installing the Drupal 7 alpha 6 or the nightly Drupal 7 build. Has anyone had any problems with the stability of the nightly dev builds? I'm thinking that the nightly dev builds have updated fixes to some of the alpha 6 problems which may be closer to the end goal than what alpha 6 is currently at. Suggestions?

Well, it depends on your goal.

If you want to set up a real site that needs to be available right away, Drupal 6 is currently the best solution (see http://drupal.org/node/896742).

If you're interested in getting in touch with Drupal 7, use the alpha 6.

If you want to report bugs, go for the nightly builds.

Hope it helps :c)

Nightly builds if you want to help bug hunt. Otherwise the alpha, which I've found pretty stable (the only wsod I've had so far was because a third party module and one of my Views didn't get on) could probably be used for a live site as long as you don't get too attached to anything on there as there is a chance everything could explode or database structures could change massively requiring a complete reinstall of the next alpha or beta version :)
