Option to edit node not available for content created before module was enabled.

I enabled the module, and set the permissions to the specific content type I wanted, and everything seems to be working fine, there is only the option to publish/unpublish inside of Create Content, and there is now a Publish/Unpublish tab at the top of my nodes. However, all of the content inside of 'My Content' that was published before I enabled the module only has 'View' and 'Publish/Unpublish' as tabs available, and there is no 'Edit' tab available, even though the authoring information is specific to the account I am testing on. However, if I create new content, I get my 'View', 'Edit', and 'Publish/Unpublish' tabs. -- I am still able to see the 'Edit' tab from an administrator account, but not from the authoring account for any content published before I enabled the module and set permissions. Wondering if anyone else has encountered this?
